Allergy Guard — Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Allergy Guard is built by Lyterian Games LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles, how it's used, and how it's protected. We built Allergy Guard to keep your medical information on your device, not in our hands — this policy reflects that design.

Your Emergency Medical Profile

Your name, allergen list, emergency contacts, allergist information, and medical notes are stored only on your device. This data is never transmitted to, or stored on, Lyterian Games' servers. We have no database of user medical information and cannot access it, back it up, or recover it if your device is lost — that responsibility is yours.

Camera & Scanning

Allergy Guard requests camera access to scan food labels and barcodes. Image analysis happens entirely on your device using on-device text recognition — photos are never uploaded to Lyterian Games or any third-party server for scanning. Scanned images are not retained after processing unless you choose to save a result.

Subscriptions & Payment

Subscriptions are processed by the App Store or Google Play and managed through RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives your purchase information and, if you provide it, your name and email for account identification and support. We do not receive or store your payment card details — that is handled entirely by Apple or Google. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Anonymous Usage Data

To enforce free-tier scan limits fairly, we store an anonymous, rolling 24-hour scan counter in Firebase Realtime Database, keyed to an anonymous subscription ID — not your name, email, or device identity. This counter contains no medical or personal information.

What We Don't Do

Your Choices

Because your medical profile lives on your device, you're in control of it directly: edit or delete any entry in the app at any time, or uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data. If you've shared your emergency profile as a PDF or QR code, that copy exists outside the app and is yours to manage.

Children's Privacy

Allergy Guard is not directed at children under 13. A parent or guardian may use the app to manage a child's allergy profile, but that profile is entered and controlled by the adult account holder, on-device, as described above.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
